Spring Cleaning: Bedroom

Spring Cleaning the bedroom, is also big job.  There is so much going on in the bedroom.  Dressers, jewelry box, lamps, etc.  It can be pretty challenging.

Now is a great time to change/wash your bed comforter.  I have a few different duvet covers so I wash the comforter inside the duvet cover and when dry I put it in the spring cover.

Start from the top down.  It is easiest as everything will drop to the floor so when you have everything clean, vacuuming or washing the carpet or floor is the last step. Don’t forget to move the heavy furniture and vacuum underneath them.

Vacuum the mattress & box-spring, spray with a disinfectant.  [I use Lysol to give the mattress a nice clean smell and I leave it unmade all day to air]

Now is a great time to take a few minutes to clean the jewelry in your jewelry box and clean it out.

Get rid of clothes that are too small or just need to be purged. It is also a good time to start your box of donations. Vacuum out the drawers and wipe if needed.

Vacuum and dust any furniture you have in your room.

Doing spring cleaning in your bedroom also helps you get great sleep. :) Imagine if you have to do it with all the mess in the room, I may even have a bad dream of getting drowned in clutter. :P

As for the clothes, I seldom buy new ones until I get to let go of some of my excess shirts and pants. I want to take care of my closet and storing a ton of clothes certainly won’t help.
